Artist Statement
I photograph the moments that make me stop.
My work is rooted in observation: people, architecture, landscapes, light, and the quiet interactions between them. I'm especially drawn to the in-between moments, when someone is unaware of the camera, when sunlight changes the feeling of a room, or when an ordinary place suddenly feels cinematic.
Working largely in black and white, I use shadow, contrast, perspective, and natural light to focus on mood rather than perfection. Whether I'm photographing a person or a place, I'm interested in what a moment feels like before I'm interested in explaining what it is.
Photography is how I hold onto the things I notice.
